Dr Ronan Perry graduated with honours from the Dental School at Trinity College Dublin in 1998. After graduation he worked as a general dentist in Dublin before moving to the UK, to work in one of the leading teaching hospitals.
In 2000, Dr Perry was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He completed a three year full time Masters in the Speciality of Orthodontics in Trinity College Dublin in 2005, and in the same year, was awarded a Masters in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He established Pearls Dental Clinics in Dublin 2006, and opened 3 clinics in Dublin City Centre, Castleknock and Maynooth where he continues to practice to this day.
Dr Perry has a special interest in lingual orthodontics and is one of Ireland’s leading practitioners with over 200 lingual orthodontic cases completed. Dr Perry is a registered specialist and an active member of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland, of which he has served as membership secretary and editor of the society newsletter. He was instrumental in setting up the patient focused OSI website www.orthodontics.ie
Dr Perry has published several papers in clinical research and orthodontics, and has presented his research at international meetings, such as the European Orthodontic Congress. Dr Perry has graduated with a First Class Masters Degree in Lingual Orthodontics from the University of Hannover Medical school in Germany, another addition to his existing specialist qualifications. The MSc in Lingual orthodontics is led by Dr Dirk Wiechmann, who developed the Incognito lingual appliance, Dr Dirk Wiechmann is a globally recognised expert on lingual orthodontics.
Ronan is a registered specialist and is president elect of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland, of which he has served as scientific secretary and editor of the society newsletter. Ronan was instrumental in setting up the patient focused OSI website.
He is also Honorary Treasurer of the Irish Dental Association (IDA)
Outside of his Orthodontic practice, Dr Perry is a keen triathlete and is an active member of 3D triathlon club. He recently completed an Iron Man competition in Klagenfurt, Austria. This consisted of; a 3.86km swim, a 180.25km bicycle ride and a 42.2km marathon, raced in that order and without a break.
